Bio

Chrissie qualified as a Yoga teacher at Sivananda in Kerala after more than

thirty years of attending classes, personal practice and retreats. In 2017 she

completed further training in Yin Yoga with Sarah Lo and assisted Sarah on

teacher training courses. More recently Chrissie has trained with Fran

Gottschlick in Myofascial Release and Myo Yin.


Chrissie trained to be a Shiatsu practitioner in the 1980’s and had a private

practice in and around Dorchester for a number of years. She is also a Reiki

teacher and loves passing on this simple healing technique to others.

Meditation and stillness are an important part of Chrissie’s daily life and form

the foundation of her workshops.


Chrissie loves teaching Yin Yoga with its long held, floor based postures which

have been designed to revive and invigorate the bodies subtle energy or Chi ,

whilst simultaneously softening and creating space in the body. A mindful

awareness of the breath, the emotions and any sensations in the body is

encouraged throughout the session to slow down mental activity and to

provide a time for stillness and quiet inward focus. Chrissie’s workshops

revolve the seasonal flow of Traditional Chinese Medicine and may also include

some Myofascial Release techniques to ease tension in the body and increase

the flow of blood and Chi. Workshops will end with relaxation and Chrissie

playing Crystal Singing Bowls.
